Kids Atelier Mall Barricade
South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa CA.
Context
I was tasked to design a full marketing barricade to increase interest in our brand for use at South Coast Plaza Mall, in Costa Mesa California. I was required to abide by a style guide, and mall stakeholders had certain requirements to fulfill. I was limited to the color yellow, and couldn't use either full black or full white, and my first time designing something to account for doors as well.
Reflection
Designing the Kids Atelier barricade for the Costa Mesa Mall taught me how to work confidently within brand and mall guidelines while still creating something visually engaging. It pushed me to balance creativity with practical constraints such as scale, readability, and installation requirements. Seeing the barricade printed and displayed in person was especially rewarding because it confirmed that the colors, composition, and messaging translated well from screen to a large physical format.
